Pipe Bursting

Pipe bursting is a trenchless method for replacing buried sewer, water, and gas lines, without the need for traditional excavation. This innovative process allows damaged or collapsed pipes to be replaced efficiently while minimizing surface disruption.

Pipe bursting can also be used for “upsizing,” replacing smaller lines with larger capacity pipes. It is especially effective for replacing deteriorated Orangeburg sewer lines.

How It Works

Pipe bursting replaces old pipe by breaking it apart while simultaneously pulling a new pipe into place.

Using specialized equipment, our team applies controlled mechanical force to fracture the existing pipe. As the old pipe breaks outward into the surrounding soil, a new, durable pipe is pulled into the same path, seamlessly taking its place.

The result is a fully replaced pipeline without the need for open trenches across your property.

Benefits

Minimal Surface Disruption

Traditional pipe replacement often requires heavy equipment and large trenches, which can damage landscaping, pavement, and surrounding structures. Pipe bursting eliminates the need for extensive digging, keeping your property intact.

Cost-Effective Solution

By avoiding major excavation, pipe bursting reduces restoration costs associated with driveways, sidewalks, foundations, and landscaping, saving both time and money.

Reduced Settlement Issues

Open trenches can settle over time, leading to uneven pavement and surface damage. Trenchless replacement minimizes this risk by preserving the surrounding ground structure.

Environmentally Responsible

Excavating old pipes can expose harmful materials such as mold, asbestos, or other contaminants. Pipe bursting reduces soil disturbance, helping limit potential environmental impact and groundwater contamination.

Hauling

Excavation and aggregate hauling go hand in hand - and we handle both. Our team provides reliable dirt removal, gravel hauling, and delivery of a wide range of aggregate materials to keep your project moving. Whether you need unwanted material hauled away or quality fill delivered on schedule, we have the equipment and experienced, insured operators to get it done efficiently and safely.

Reliable hauling is essential to keeping your project on schedule. Bowker Pinnacle Mechanical provides professional aggregate and material hauling services backed by experienced drivers and a dependable fleet.

Pipe Thawing and Repair

When temperatures drop, frozen pipes can quickly turn into costly damage. As water freezes inside a pipe, it expands - creating blockages and pressure that can lead to cracks, bursts, and significant water loss in a short amount of time.

Bowker Pinnacle Mechanical specializes in thawing frozen pipes and frozen pipe repair, safely restoring flow and preventing further damage. Whether the issue is in a basement, crawl space, wall cavity, or underground line, our experienced technicians have the equipment to locate the problem, access the pipe, and make the necessary repairs or replacements.

If extreme cold has your plumbing at risk, our team is ready to respond quickly and get your system back in working order.

Signs and Prevention

Signs

  • No water is coming out of the faucet
  • Leaks
  • Water coming out of ground

Prevention

  • Insulate pipes
  • Leave water dripping (running water won’t freeze)

The Basement Digging Process

Clearing Away Trees and Stumps

We'll make sure the lot is cleared of unwanted trees, shrubs, and stumps to ensure that the area is prepared for the foundation.

Grading the Construction Site

Grading prior to digging the foundation makes the final grading process smooth and easy and prepares the site for the foundation.

Dig for the Foundation

This is where the fun begins. We'll dig for the foundation according to your plans and specs.

Install Sewer and Water

Backfill and Final Grading

Once the foundation is complete, we'll backfill the soil and grade the dirt away from the foundation properly.

Contaminated Soil

We provide safe and compliant full service contaminated soil removal services to protect the community and the environment. From testing and excavation, to secure transport and certified disposal, every step is handled with strict regulatory oversight. Our team uses proper protective equipment and monitors site conditions to ensure hazards are contained. The result is responsible cleanup that prevents contaminants from impacting air, water, or surrounding communities.

  • Remediation: From simple to complex, we can handle your soil remediation needs.
  • Testing
  • Excavation: We have the capability to excavate both contaminated and clean soil.

Hydrant Flushing

Reliable fire hydrants are critical to public safety and system performance. Bowker Pinnacle Mechanical provides comprehensive hydrant inspection, testing, repair, and replacement services to ensure your equipment is fully operational and compliant with local requirements. Our thorough process ensures your hydrants are ready when they’re needed most.

Inspections

Routine inspections help identify issues before they become costly problems. Our annual hydrant inspections evaluate overall condition and operational readiness. During inspection, we check for:

  • Main valve leaks
  • Obstructions or restricted operation
  • Cracked or missing caps
  • Leaking or damaged nozzles
  • Worn gaskets or faulty valves
  • Proper hydrant height and accessibility
  • Exterior condition, including visibility and paint

Flow Testing

Flow testing determines the pressure and water volume available at specific locations within your system. We measure:

  • Static pressure
  • Residual pressure
  • Discharge rate (GPM)

This data is essential for evaluating fire protection capabilities and identifying potential blockages or infrastructure concerns within the water distribution network.

Repair and Installation

When repairs are needed, our experienced team is equipped to handle them efficiently and safely. We service and replace hydrants and valves from all major manufacturers. Whether it’s a minor component repair or a full hydrant replacement, we provide:
